Mohammad B. Hamida is a PhD researcher of real estate management at the Department of Management in the Built Environment, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at TU Delft. Through his PhD research, Mohammad pursues providing practitioners in the building industry and real estate market with a knowledge-based framework for promoting circularity and adaptability in building reuse projects. To achieve this aim, Mohammad has critically reviewed the relevant bodies of literature, conducted multiple case studies, and followed participatory- and action-research-oriented approaches in his research.
Hilde Remøy is an Associate Professor of Real Estate Management at the Department of Management in the Built Environment, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft. Her research focuses on adaptive reuse as a sustainable real estate strategy. In 2010, Hilde Remøy completed her PhD research at TU Delft, focusing on the conversion of vacant offices into housing. Within the broad topic of adaptive reuse, Hilde Remøy focuses on future use value, energy efficiency measures, and circular adaptation, on the scale of the building, location, and portfolio.
Angela Greco is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Management in the Built Environment, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft. She has been awarded the top-female Delft Technology Fellowship in 2021, commending ground-breaking research efforts addressing urgent societal problems. On a part-time basis, she also serves as Senior Scientist for the Strategic Analysis and Policy department of TNO, the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research, and as research affiliate at the University of Groningen. Before these positions, she was a postdoctoral fellow in responsible innovation at the Ivey Business School at Western University, Canada. She obtained her PhD from the Center for Sustainable Entrepreneurship at the University of Groningen. She has contributed to several national and international research projects focusing on the sustainability transitions of the built environment.
Vincent Gruis is a Professor of Housing Management at the Department of Management in the Built Environment, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft. He is also the chair of the Dutch Transition Team for a Circular Construction Economy. His research focuses on organizational strategies in housing management, focusing on how property managers and developers can adapt their stock and activities to societal challenges. In this context, Vincent Gruis has been researching the renovation and management of the existing housing stock, as well as the process of implementing principles of the circular economy in the management and (re)development of this type of built assets.
Brian van Laar is a PhD candidate at the Department of Management in the Built Environment, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment. His PhD research focuses on developing a holistic decision-making tool for circular adaptive reuse, focusing on functionally obsolete buildings. To achieve this aim, Brian van Laar has used various methods and leveraged new technologies, including AI. His PhD research is part of an EU Horizon project called ‘Reincarnate’.
Fatih Sarikaya is a Master student at the Department of Management in the Built Environment, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft. His thesis explores the real-world applicability and effectiveness of passive, design-oriented CBA strategies, focusing on testing and ranking their impact. Additionally, Fatih supports the broader research on the knowledge-based CBA-AR framework as the webdeveloper of this website.
Rosan Pallada is a developer of and consultant in heritage real estate with research experience at TU Delft, NRP, and the Erfgoedfabriek. She works with BOEi as a development manager on heritage projects. In addition, she is a co-organizer at the platform ‘De Kerkvernieuwers’ and a board member of the foundation ‘De week van het lege gebouw’. She aims to bring a new life to vacant heritage real estate and make heritage popular again with a large audience.
Djoeke Dalinghaus is a cultural heritage advisor to BOEi. She has research experience in citizen participation in transforming cultural heritage real estate within the context of developers from the private sector.
